Update on writing

Thanks to everyone who participated in my giveaway and those of you who purchased, liked and reviewed my book. The final drawing was done and the last winner is Brigid of Watching the Daisies
Please send me your mailing address so that I can get this book off to you Brigid!
I am currently working on a cookbook and trying to keep editing my real life story as well. I go back and forth with the real life story and kind of give up but then hear of other people who are suffering and as I have been told by many I do have a voice and can speak out. So, hopefully I will be able to complete it and maybe switch back and forth between these two ideas taking the pressure off.
Have a great Saturday and I had to share these photos of little princess Alayna. She has a great deal of hair that is long and curly and in the morning it can be quite wild. Mom and Dad put a cute bow or make a little ponytail on top of her precious head but early one morning when I woke up with her it was natural and untamed! She is such a doll!
Bad hair day?
Congrats to Brigid!

Alayna is such a cutie. Keep writing, Lynn, but there isn’t a deadline and your story will come out and finish when you’re ready. A cookbook sounds like a fun idea. 🙂

Thanks Diana! I am excited to do the cookbook and it kind of helps me to go back and forth on both!

There was a little girl
BY HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW
There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.
These pictures of Alayna remind me of my eldest, cuddly sleeper and all. I used to recite the above poem to her when she was growing up because her hair was a wild thing too. She remembers this poem with fondness, perhaps because she knew I could never think of her as horrid, so it was our silly joke. Occasionally I say it to her still, just to rekindle those delightful warm fuzzies of yesteryear.
Writing difficult things is not to be done lightly if you are to get it right. I can see where the temptation to let it go might be a healthy choice right now in the midsts of the happiness your life as become. So don’t let the expectations of others, or an unnecessary feeling of responsibility to others become a burden that you carry. For even though your story is powerful, and yes helpful to others trapped, you have to grab hold of your life now, and give it all you’ve got. Just be happy for awhile, you’ve earned it, the hard way.

Alayna is gorgeous, she reminds me of my youngest daughter. She had a mop of hair that was so curly she looked like she was wearing a wig.

I have pictures of her in my song The Mother’s Waltz, Lynn. You’ll have to listen to it all the way through because she’s the last bak in the photo. (I’m the baby in the tub) Here’s the link

Alayna is so cute! Love the untamed curls! Your books will be birthed at the proper time. There is no timeline and just work at your own pace and in your own timing. They will get finished at the right time. Lynn, your voice and writing are powerful!

I love I get to enjoy the babies through your blog. My daughter married a man who took care of that part along time ago and really has no desire for kids, she was aware of this when she married him and her biological clock never went off, and my son just informed me that he will probably never have children either. His gal is a career woman at hear, loves animals and is going back to school for another 4 years to get her PhD so he was hoping I wouldn’t be upset. How could I be upset when all we really want is for our children to be happy and have a full life of whatever they choose. As long as they are healthy, happy, productive adults I am over the moon with happiness. So when I get to sit and look at your grandbabies and watch them grow, I am grateful you share. Love the song/video of the Mothers Waltz, if I ever get another piano I will search out that music. XX

I agree with you whole heartedly in fact my kids are surprised when I tell them to do what is best for them! I love my Kids and they are my everything but they have an absentee father who has never really been too involved so you need to be invested and all in. So glad I was lucky enough to be given the gift of my kids and I agree with your words so much❤️😍😀

I hate to say it, but I think they are so much better off not having that father in their lives. My son’s father was the control freak and really unrealistic one. Aaron finally was able to see and understand just how whacked he was on his ideas of life. They know have an adult relationship and Aaron has learned to set boundaries with his father, I know that it caused some issues at first but his dad saw he meant what he said and finally stopped being an asshole!! You raised wonderful children, they all have great values and morals. You did good!!!
