A thousand cupcakes

thumbnail_IMG_9973thumbnail_IMG_9981IMG_9984

Months back when we were just starting this blissful journey, Foof and I decided we would make pastries for the wedding. A gorgeous cake has been ordered from Mom and Dad’s favorite place but we wanted to add some flare and do something a bit different. We were supposed to get together numerous times to work on this project but it just never happened. So, today is the day! How many cupcakes will we make and what flavors?

  7. Love it! You get to enjoy Foof and let your creavity run wild. A tangible statement of love to Fattima and Ben. Lynn, you definitely have gotten much healing, in order to do this much baking.

Hugm? I have a great idea. IF the cupcakes turn out good, which I am sure they will, then make your wedding cake out of a mountain of cupcakes! I saw this done many years ago at a wedding I attended at the home of the former Major of SF, now Senatorf Feinstein’s house back in the late 70’s at a home reception there. The wedding cake was made out of cream puffs!

      • Ya. It was really neat. Except with cupcakes as I thought about it, might be messy to place one on top of the other since each would have frosting on top. Probably would need an engineer to insure the cupcakes wouldn’t topple over and make sure when people eat them they are taken off from top to bottom. The flower arrangement in one layer might be a bit easier to de and l with. Your over bbn is going to get a workout baking 1000 cup cakes!

Been there, done that! Baking the cupcakes isn’t bad, it’s the decorating that is time-consuming!! We used nasturtiums atop the icing; they are edible! πŸ™‚
I’m sure yours will be a huge hit!!

  13. Our sugar rush days are over on the keto diet but we are feeling fit! I remember those wedding orders well: baking and decorating 400 cupcakes. Best of luck. A few at a time are fun. Have fun.
