First Christmas tree

Twinkle twinkle Christmas tree

When I look at you I see

Days gone by when I was young

lights and garland round were strung

Across my mind they shine so bright

Snowy moon lit Christmas night

Come back now and dance with me

Around my first, this Christmas tree

      1. How beautiful, and memorable this tree is and will be! I still remember my very Christmas tree. Sweet memories! I was 19 yrs old living on my own in a small apartment downtown.
I still have several of the glass bulbs from that first tree, but only look at them now. They’re very fragile with age. Half of them have been broken over the years.

A new tradition has been born in your home. Long may it grow, and live within your family! xx

    1. They will most likely go to her family which is fairly near by. We get thanksgiving each year and all the kids are here. But I am hoping to see those sweeties! We are putting things in our stocking and I might do what we did when I was growing up! We have never really celebrated before or had a tree xxxx

      1. It is a phenomenon that Christmas gets a different meaning once little children are around. You couldn’t celebrate the years in Saudi Arabia of course. Now, with the little ones, all is different. I am sure they will come by anytime during those days. You are an amazing grandma πŸ’–

  1. Congratulations with your first Christmas Tree, dear Lynn. It is beautiful πŸ™‚
Now it is you and the younger ones to find out, how you wish to keep your Christmas for the rest of your life πŸ˜€ No one to say something else, so good.
Wish you will get time with all of your family in the Christmas too, Lynn.

  2. Beautifully poignant and gentle, Lynz. I can’t help but smile at the row of Christmas stockings, so cute! Waiting for little presents to delight the young ones! πŸ˜€ Bet there is a great sense of anticipation and waiting for them (and you too!) πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Annika! My sons have pushed me each year to get a tree to be happy to celebrate but I could not. This year I am trying. We were not allowed to celebrate any holiday so it felt scary. My little tree is just right xxxxxx

      1. Lynz, I hope it feels right for you this year to celebrate – I can’t imagine what it would be like not to be allowed to partake in these festivities. It takes guts to move forward; a little tree sounds just right for little steps at a time. Warmest wishes. xx

  3. I have not been on line much so am just reading this now. So sorry you had to go through this! I’ve had skin cancer surgery twice and it is not fun. I hope you are feeling better now, dear Lynn. Be sure to wear a hat and sunblock. πŸ™‚
