Awakening

I have never been into art to be quite honest. I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler and that is the whole truth. Living in Saudi and raising 9 kids, there was no time for art or music or literature and it was quite honestly labeled a “waste of time”. Despite that, the kids flourished and developed a creative side that still amazes me! Well, now that life has settled down and I have been exposed to so much art through blogging, I have found what I like!! There are so many artists and I adore all of their work! Recently I received a free card from my friend Jodi (lucky me) and I love her work!

One day I stumbled upon this blog and the art was mesmerizing!Β Sand Salt MoonΒ  is a blog with gorgeous art. Cynthia is the artist and also has become a friend. I don’t understand how or what is done to create this beauty, I just know it is beautiful. I guess at age 53 I am starting to know more about myself through looking at art, reading blogs and seeing photos. I ordered a piece of art but it was really hard to pick my favorite. Thanks Cynthia for being part of my awakening.

I wonder where I would put this one…..

  1. That’s very lovely! I splurged on some art from the Cherry Creek Arts Festival here in Colorado a few years ago and put the pieces up in my bedroom so when I wake up every morning they set my day for a happy day. You are really going to enjoy looking at that every day

  2. I love all forms of art – mostly self taught, I try my way around with brushes and pencils. Its been long since I painted something and this post is inspiring me to pick up some brushes πŸ™‚

  3. Oh, Lynn – you were my secret admirer – I wondered who ordered that print on my Society6 online shop, and it was you! Thank you so much for appreciating my work and also for generously purchasing a print from my S6 shop. You give me such a good feeling to know you are happily enjoying my creations. I love creating art because it makes me happy and I can share that happiness with people like you. Happy Valentine’s Day ~~ what a surprise this is to see your post this morning!!

  4. This is lovely and something that I could quite happily look at every day. Very interesting subject as the flowers ins the foreground look almost as if they could have come from a European garden, but the trees in the background have a tropical feel. Like a fusion of two cultures – very apt Choice Miss Lynz……….
