There are funny little things that happen in Saudi especially in construction and design! So, the picture above is a house and that is it’s garage on the left. What is wrong with this picture???
A cart for serving tea!
A big past time in Saudi racing up the sand dune!
The Corniche
Love that tea-cart. It would look fairly silly in my small townhouse, but it would certainly be a conversation piece. How elegant to have high tea served from it.

yeah wouldn’t that be something? haha

Cool tea cart! Do people go swimming at the Corniche?

My kids tried to go in just with their toes and the locals said no no dirty! So I am not sure. Now please you post all kinds of cool things! so, tell me what is wrong with the picture? please?

Odd is right! You know for a while I was unable to leave comments at your site. It kept disappearing for quite a while then all of a sudden it’s working now. There’s another blogger who’s going through the same thing now and she’s all sad about it. Geez! Sup with that disappearing comments?

There looks like there is a pole blocking you from bringing a car into the garage. Is that right, hard to tell exact;y but that would not make sense if thats the case.

yes!!! hahaha my kids saw it and laughed although typical of a Saudi type of mess up!

Whoever lives in that house (top pic) obviously doesn’t use the garage – not for keeplng the car in, anyway.Lol Perhaps they had access to it from inside and used it for storage or something. Still, that doesn’t excuse the idiotic position of the post! The tea trolley’s a bit too glitzy for my taste, but it would look good in the right setting. As for racing up a sand dune as a pastime… Well, I suppose if you’ve got sand dunes on your doorstep, you might as well make use of them!

I love your pictures and stories – not to mention your great recipes.(I also love sand dunes. I grew up in a seaside town where we had lots, all along the coast. I don’t remember car races up and down them, though. We just used to have races by rolling down them – without the cars, I mean. Lol)

Yes, I can only imagine. Plus taking a standard vehicle on a sand dune that is 50-60 feet high now that is really dumb…A standard transmission will blow up! Goof-balls!

That tea cart wreaks of opulence. The box matches sort of the cart and you can get away from that. What throws the opulence is those chintzy cups that you serve tea in. They look like a garage store find next to the cart.

The light pole is unbelievable! Do they really drive Toyota Camrys up the sand dunes?? Also, is it true they abandon expensive cars in the desert if they get stuck?
LikeLiked by 1 person
haha I am not sure about the camrys but my daughter said they had SUV, jeeps and just regular cars and it was quite a sight! I don’t think that is true because they are desert people and the average one will not want to leave their car. Maybe a super rich one but honestly the average Saudi is not rich at all! the average income is pretty low I was shocked!

My hubby went to Dubai for business and he went ‘Dune Bashing’ I am not too sure if that is the same thing, looks like it…got to say he wasn’t too impressed, and I told him he must be getting old haha

Being English afternoon tea is an artform and I was raised with it being wheeled in on a trolley, kettle on a spirit stove ready for mother to do the honours, teapot complete with cosy and bread and butter which had to be eaten before one was allowed to indulge in whatever sweet treats had been baked that day. But I have never seen such a bling trolley and I would love to see mother’s face if she saw it! As for the garage – hilarious!
