Video I took back in Riyadh
One thing that is very different in Saudi, is safety. You can easily walk onto a construction site or possibly fall into one as this video shows. This large construction site was in a busy area.

Did you ever wonder how safe the final product/building was? Living in the west it is probably more expensive to build with all the red tape, but maybe all the rules and regs are well purposed…such a dramatic difference, you must have been shaking your head.

yes they are good! It was scary, open drains in the not western compound and the workers would open it up to clean sweep water down, if you fell down there that would be it!! I used to be so scared!

Another example of the dramatic differences…I would be scared too, with little ones to worry about as well as concerns for the workers. Yipes!

it is scary there but normal. I told someone else that drains on the one compound that go hundreds of feet down are left open! Not always but workers clean them and hose water down and leave them wide open!

Whoa!! You were brave for even taking the video…no way I could have done that! My fear of heights coupled with that kinda danger…no way, no how!!

ha ha I don’t like heights either. In Saudi you walk past this kind of thing all the time. So, in the end I was more assertive and took videos!!! seems strange now but ha ha I did
